Our Team of Professionals

No matter what the service or program, our mission is the same. Providing physical rehabilitation services to put the living back into life. The team of professionals involved in your care will vary, depending upon the nature of your injury or illness and whether you require inpatient, outpatient or community fitness services. While our programs are varied and individualized, our core focus is on services provided in the following healthcare disciplines.

Rehabilitation Nursing
Our nursing staff ensures that rehabilitation and therapeutic interventions occur around the clock. In the rehabilitation setting, registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants possess the specialized knowledge and clinical skills to help minimize the impact of disability while providing comfort and promoting health and independence in activities of daily living. Under the direction of the medical staff, the nursing staff also supports the management of the medical and post-surgical care of the patient.

Physical Therapy
A physical therapist provides services to help a patient achieve and maintain the highest possible level of function following injury, surgery or illness. Physical therapy consists of exercise, balance and coordination training, walking and gait training, management of stairs and uneven surfaces, transfer training and patient and family education on safety and home exercise programs.

Physical therapists also play a pivotal role in pain management while focusing on restoration of function through heat, cold, water, massage, electrical stimulation and biofeedback.

Occupational Therapy
An occupational therapist provides services to help restore a patient's ability to perform tasks of daily living. The occupational therapist works to prevent dysfunction through the teaching of therapeutic exercises and self-care skills and helps to modify daily living tasks to a patient's physical and emotional level of tolerance. The occupational therapist also:
• Provides preventive and corrective equipment to prevent deformities and promote function.
• Aids in the psychological conditioning of patients to prepare them for reentry and reintegration into the community.
• Uses tests to determine patient's ability in areas of concentration, attention, thought organization, perception and problem solving.
• Helps determine a patient's potential for vocational performance.

Speech-Language Therapy
Speech-language pathologists are trained to provide diagnostic evaluation, screening, testing and rehabilitation services for individuals with speech, hearing and/or language disorders by using functional techniques and methods.

Speech-language pathologists train patients to relearn the ability to express, understand and carry out conversation. SLPs also help improve swallowing dysfunction, cognitive impairments and memory.
